The Miami Heat improved to a 9-6 record to start their 2025-26 NBA campaign, following a 110-96 win against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. What makes their start commendable is the fact that they’re 7-1 at home thus far.

This has caught the eye of former NBA player-turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins, who recently offered an apology to the Miami Heat fans during a recent episode of ESPN’s NBA Today.
“I was sleeping on the Heat. I’d like to apologize. I slept on them. I didn’t expect them to be making this much noise. But I gotta highlight Norman Powell and how the Clippers dropped the ball by trading him away and what he’s been doing right now, especially with Tyler Herro being out,” Perkins stated. “He has basically somewhat become their number one option. He’s doing it consistently.”

“Last year, he averaged a career-high 24 points and was knocking at the door of being an All-Star. And now, he’s embraced this Heat culture. The culture has embraced him, and we’re seeing him now having a career year as far as points per game,” he concluded.
Miami Heat News: Tyler Herro could return as soon as next week, per insider
Tyler Herro has yet to make his season debut with the Miami Heat after undergoing foot surgery, and ESPN insider Shams Charania shared some good news about the one-time NBA All-Star recently on NBA Today.

“I’m told Tyler Herro is likely to make his season debut next week. It could be as soon as Monday game vs Mavericks,” Charania stated.
The Miami Heat will go on a two-game East road trip to face the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers before opening their four-game homestand against the Dallas Mavericks next Tuesday.
