Joel Embiid is slowly returning to his form and one might be able to say that he is ready to take his team back. Philadelphia 76ers has Embiid as their best player in the last decade but injuries in the past two seasons have prevented them from completing the process.

The 2023 MVP scored 38 points in their loss to the New York Knicks, an amazing follow up to his 32 points in win over the Houston Rockets.
Embiid did not start the season as he prioritized the full rehab of his injured that made him most of the 2024-25 season.
Is the 76ers still Embiid’s team? Former NBA player Channing Frye thinks he should not bother claiming the top alpha title in the team as their current situation is already doing wonders for them.
Frye, who won the 2016 title with the Cleveland Cavaliers, claim Sixers is now for Tyrese Maxey to lead. Maxey is currently among the frontrunners for the MVP and successfully held the forth while Embiid was out.

Maxey recently earned a starting spot in the All-Star Game because of his 2025-26 play.
Joel Embiid should give way for Maxey
Frye thinks Philly revolves around Maxey now and that’s a great thing for all concerned sides.
“It’s less Embiid and more Tyrese Maxey. Just hear me out. Embiid is going to be Embiid – certain weeks he is not going to be there. He’s actually trying to play a little bit of defense. He’s switching out, moving his body. He’s not falling down every single time,” he said.

“But to me, the culture of that team starts and ends with Tyrese Maxey, and then you see VJ Edgecombe, Kelly Oubre last night had a crazy game defensively because Embiid has had this up and down. He can just come in and play Embiid basketball, and he’s been unselfish.”
Sixers are currently 24-20 and in the sixth spot of the Eastern Conference.
