NBA fans are having mixed reactions to Michael Jordan’s recent comments on ‘Insights to Excellence’, where the legend called out modern basketball players for giving too much importance to rest. Steph Curry and many other players of today have been asking the NBA to cut down on the load, since it shortens their period of rest.

While many fans do understand that the game today is quite different from what it was years ago and that the game itself is a lot more fast-paced, Jordan went on to admonish these players for not making use of every opportunity.

“You play basketball for 2.5 to 3 hours a day. That’s your job. That’s what you get paid to do. What are you doing the other 21 hours?”

“It shouldn’t be needed, first and foremost. You know, I never wanted to miss a game because it was an opportunity to prove – it was something that I felt like, you know, the fans are there that watch me play. I want to impress that guy way up on top who probably worked his a** off to get a ticket or to get money to buy the ticket.” Michael Jordan said.

“You play basketball for 2.5 to 3 hours a day. That’s your job. That’s what you get paid to do. What are you doing the other 21 hours?” Jordan went on.

“mj would be load managing in this era with the insane pace there is, his era they was just standing doing nothing dribbling in one spot for hours lmao” one fan trolled MJ.

“I get it but….The pace is 5x faster current nba. We’ve seen the film old man.” Another fan said.

“’Did you really care about the guy that stood up in the top deck in Detroit?’ MJ: yeah because he’s probably yelling at me and I wanted to shut him up. BROOOO (crying emoji x5)” another fan made fun of MJ.

NBA Fans Are Also Taking MJ’s Side For His Load Management Comments

While many NBA fans are mocking Michael Jordan for his comments on load management, many others are siding with him. Jordan and his peers never felt the need to ask the league to decrease their load and still managed to impress their fans throughout the season, as per many in the comments section.

    “’don’t be a b*tch’ – MJ” one fan said.

“Michael Jordan is the GOAT. LeBron James is a goat. There is a difference.” Another fan trolled.

“Dude drank and played cards all night, played golf all day and then dominated the NBA with ease.” Another fan praised MJ.

NBA players today are pretty firm in their desire for a reduction in their load, not only because the game is more fast-paced, but also because of the risk of injuries. If players do not get enough time to rest and recover, they are at the risk of a lot more injuries which can end up ruining their careers.
