NBA fans reacted to a wild moment during the NBA Cup awarding ceremony, after the New York Knicks upset the San Antonio Spurs to clinch the trophy.
Over at X, NBA fans went wild over a moment that is now viral on social media platforms. During the trophy awarding ceremony for the NBA Cup, Knicks star Josh Hart was caught on camera slapping the behind of Jalen Brunson, which caused the latter to jump and look back at who did it. One fan called back to a college reference with the butt-slapping scene.

“Villanova slumber party antics,” the fan said.
Another fan, meanwhile, noted how Brunson showed restraint, at least based on the video.
“Took all his self-control not to punch him for that,” the fan said.

New York defeated San Antonio 124 to 113 for the NBA Cup title by coming back from a second-half deficit. This was New York’s first title since 1973. New York’s strong fourth quarter came after the Spurs had a good third quarter, with help from Jordan Clarkson, Tyler Kolek, and Mitchell Robinson coming off the bench.
Jalen Brunson was named NBA Cup MVP after a 25-point, eight-rebound performance and singled out the supporting cast for the win. In an interview, Burnson highlighted the importance of finding a way to win.
“We find a way to win. That’s it,” he said. “We’re going to find a way. That has to be our motto going forward: We need to find a way.”
The victory underscored a deliberate shift in roster usage and personnel after last season’s reliance on heavy starter minutes under Tom Thibodeau. The Knicks replaced Thibodeau with Mike Brown, added depth through signings such as Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele, and have spread minutes more widely this year.
