NBA fans are starting to sympathize with Danny Wolf as the rookie forward has been on the receiving end of back‑to‑back tirades from league veterans.
After Jimmy Butler repeatedly called him “White Boy” during Golden State’s clash with Brooklyn, Wolf found himself targeted again — this time by Kevin Durant. In the Nets’ matchup against the Houston Rockets, Wolf attempted an open three in the second quarter but airballed, striking Durant in the process. Durant quickly barked: “Trash a** miss, Wolf.”

NBA fans noticed the pattern.

@wardellon1 added, “jimmy now durant nobody likes wolf.”
And @imreggiedejesus wondered, “Ok what’s up with this guy Danny Wolf? Because he seems to be getting all the NBA smoke lately.”
The night didn’t end well for Wolf, who finished with 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists in Brooklyn’s 120‑96 loss.
“That brick was personal”: NBA fans speculate on Danny Wolf’s miss
While some NBA fans sympathized, others speculated Wolf’s airball was intentional.

@JohnnyBuckets9 answered, “He knew what he was doing. Take out KD and they could come back and win.”
However, @lanabop_ defended Wolf and said, “It was just a mistake, Durant is overreacting all the time.”
Whether accidental or deliberate, Wolf has quickly become a lightning rod for NBA fans and veterans alike. Intentional or not, the rookie will have plenty of time to prove himself and move past the trash talk that’s followed him early in his career.
