NBA Fans couldn’t help but give insight into what seems to be an ongoing heated conflict between LeBron James and Jeanie Buss, LA Lakers governor. On Wednesday, reports swirled online that Buss took issue with James’ “ego” and how he has “exerted” influence over the team, as well as the narrative that James brought the team back to relevance since joining them in 2018.
The controversy forced NBA Fans to pick sides, and users like @BronCheated didn’t hold back, writing, “That’s exactly what he did though, Bron brought us out of the dark ages.” Meanwhile, @nielsonTSN1260 bought the narrative, posting, “BREAKING NEWS: He was and he lead them to a title two years later.”

The majority of NBA Fans also chose sides, and many were on James’ side. Many noted that it was LBJ who brought the Lakers back into relevance since 2016 and gave the team its 17th title in 2020, even the first NBA In-Season Cup just three seasons later.
“missed playoffs 5 years straight and within 2 years he wins you an NBA Championship and gets FMVP. HE WAS INDEED THE LAKERS SAVIOR BC NOOOO ONE WANTED TO BE THERE UNTIL HIM,” one user remarked.
However, some NBA Fans doubled down and insisted on how James did more for the Lakers than Buss has done.
“Oh well f*** her and everyone associated to that dogs*** FO and ownership group… Lakers were a laughing stock when LeGOAT rescued them from the sewers… f*** what she “felt”…she should have been kissing the ground he walked on,” one user wrote.
“Jeanie took over in 2013, until MAGIC JOHNSON got LeBron and made Lakeshow about winning again, all she has was LOSING SEASONS,” one user remarked.

While the majority of NBA Fans are picking LeBron’s side, Buss is on the losing side, as Fans saw LBJ’s greater impact on the team.
NBA Fans aren’t buying with James-Buss issue
Many NBA Fans have already chosen sides on the ongoing issue between James and Buss. However, some Fans refuse to join the debate, seeing the reports as highly unlikely, if not outright false.
User @CourtsideAura was one of these NBA Fans, writing, “I wasn’t sure at first who would have leaked this stuff, but it had to have been Rich Paul. ESPN is nothing but a sensationalist tabloid nowadays,” believing that it was the Klutch Sports president who decided to spread Buss’ statement like wildfire.
Whether the ongoing issue is really legit, it didn’t remove the fact that NBA Fans remain deeply engaged in it. However, Fans remain hopeful that this wouldn’t affect the Lakers’ standing this season.
