NBA Fans online were left gaping when X/Twitter page @TheDunkCentral shared LA Lakers superstar Luka Doncic’s story, showing him watching “A High School Musical.” Fans, of course, couldn’t help but land hilarious comments on the player who is seemingly least likely to watch the famous teenage show.
One user, @JoshUntucked, however, didn’t hold back when he wrote, “Troy bolton played defense,” believing that the show’s favorite basketball player can guard the court better than Doncic.
It’s funny, given that NBA Fans have aimed barbs at the Slovenian star, often saying his defense is his weakness on the court.
Meanwhile, for user @hoopsview, it wasn’t a shocker that Doncic is a big fan of High School Musical.
The user, in fact, even shared a video of Doncic back in September,saying, “I’ve watched [High School Musical] like probably 10-15 times. I like the singing. I like the actors.”

“Luka watching Troy and Gabriella reconcile right before auditions,” one userremarked.
“Dude is watching high school musical while shooting tour dates,” one usercommented.
“Where do you think his love of basketball comes from? He heard “Getcha head In the game” and was inspired,” one userwrote.
“Troy 2 rings, learn from him Chuka my son,” one user hilariouslyposted.
While NBA Fans were applauding on Doncic’s favorite show, they remain shocked by how, beyond the court, the Slovenian superstar is just sometimes at his couch, relaxing, as Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez audition to become their school’s greatest singers. And the next day, NBA Fans will then see that this same Doncic will drop triple-doubles against his opponents.
In fact, NBA Fans might not know it, but Doncic might have been rewatching the same show for months, while, at the same time, honing his offense for the Lakers’ next game
NBA Fans throw shade at Doncic’s favorite show
Despite a lot of NBA Fans clearly showing love for Doncic after spotting him watching an episode of High School Musical, some Fans couldn’t help but lob criticism at the Lakers’ superstar.
One user, @Heatstan1, isn’t convinced on how Doncic’s story went instantly viral, writing, “Who gives a f*** [laughing emoji].” Meanwhile, user @Brothetruth couldn’t help but throw lobs at Doncic’s physique, posting, “He’s also a food enjoyer cuz he’s fat.” User @AJSXXII didn’t even buy that Doncic is indeed a fan of the show, writing, “Performative as f***.”
However, even though some of the NBA Fans aren’t convinced by Doncic’s favorite show, it doesn’t change the fact that off the court, he’s a happy and relaxed man, despite being one of the league’s greatest shooters.
