Doc Rivers had NBA fans cracking up once again after his latest interview made the rounds online.
Speaking to Toronto reporters on Tuesday, Rivers decided to poke a little fun at the local media after the Toronto Blue Jays’ heartbreaking Game 7 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.

“Are you guys okay? That Game 7 was a hard one,” Rivers said with a grin. “That was heart-wrenching. Look on the bright side, Donald Trump wasn’t going to invite you to the White House anyways.”

While Rivers seemed to be having fun with the jab, NBA fans were quick to flip the joke back on him — and they didn’t hold back.
One fan replied, “Trump never blew a 3-1 lead.”
Another added, “Doc knows a thing or two about heart-wrenching Game 7’s.”
A third joked, “Doc won’t ever have to worry about an invite considering he won’t ever win again.”
Fans couldn’t resist reminding the Milwaukee Bucks coach of his playoff history — becoming the first coach to blow 3-1 series leads with three different teams: the 2003 Orlando Magic, the 2015 LA Clippers, and the 2020 version against the Denver Nuggets.
“They reward people who flops”: NBA fans react to Doc Rivers’ revelation about referees and Giannis Antetokounmpo
Rivers also found himself in the spotlight for another reason this week, this time for comments about officiating during the Bucks’ 117–115 win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday.

It was a chippy game, and fans noticed several no-calls on Giannis Antetokounmpo despite some obvious contact. After the game, Rivers shared an eyebrow-raising remark from one of the referees.
“One of the refs said, yeah, they are hitting his arms, but he’s playing through it,” Rivers revealed.
That explanation didn’t sit well with NBA fans, who quickly sounded off online.
One wrote, “Basically they reward people who flops smh.”

Another said, “Doc needs to say this every night. You can’t punish Giannis for refusing to flop or being strong enough to finish through fouls. Meanwhile SGA and Embiid literally won MVPs by foul seeking via flops.”
A third added, “If it was SGA he’d have 50 free throws.”

Between the jokes, the jabs, and the officiating debate, Rivers somehow found himself trending again — a reminder that, for better or worse, Doc will always be part of the NBA’s most entertaining storylines.
