NBA fans reacted to a new rumor that pointed to one Cleveland Cavaliers star supposedly on the chopping block, with the trade deadline coming closer early next year.
In a post on social media platform X, a new rumor positioned Cleveland Cavaliers star Darius Garland as a potential trade by the franchise, with several teams allegedly showing interest in him. NBA fans, however, appeared unconvinced as rumors of his trade had floated around repeatedly before.
One fan even drew a comparison with another player from a different conference who often finds his way to different teams.

“The D’Lo of the east,” the fan said, describing Garland.

Another fan, however, does not see this happening and sees Garland staying with Miami, for one particular reason.
“He’s the most overrated PG in the league, no team wants him,” they said.
D’Angelo Russel has built a reputation for being a player who has something to deliver on court, but has often been dubbed as an overrated star, part of it being that he has often moved across teams in only a short span of time. In turn, this raised debate amongst the fanbase about his long-term value to any team that he has been a member of.
Russell’s career has featured several notable trades and roster moves, which is the main reason fans and media describe him as a “frequent mover.”
Meanwhile, Garland has not been traded yet since he was first drafted by the Cavs back in 2019. He has been, however, often dubbed by some fans as overrated, and rumors of him being traded have floated around multiple times in past trade deadlines.
Those discussions, however, have often reflected broader questions about fit, roster balance, and the Cavaliers’ long‑term strategy rather than any completed transaction involving Garland.
NBA Fans Discuss Rumored Darius Garland Trade
Over at X, NBA fans argued on the potential Darius Garland trade. For some, they don’t see a deal happening, as they cited Garland’s health and injury issues as one main factor.

“Not sure what they’re monitoring him for,” one fan said. “Is it because of prospects or…? What team would he make better?”

Another fan echoed the sentiment, and said that Garland is only good when he is healthy.
“Garland is a top 10 PG when healthy,” they said. “The problem is he is rarely healthy anymore.”
With the trade deadline closing in early 2026, NBA fans are looking forward to moves their favorite franchises would make.
