Newly minted New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown is planning to implement a faster style of play while building a sustainable winning culture for the 2025-26 season and beyond.

Speaking at his introductory press conference, Brown detailed how he plans to implement his tactics with Jalen Brunson, among others, spearheading their charge.

“Everyone knows I like to play fast,” Brown said. “To have a guy like Jalen (Brunson) out there gives you the versatility to play all different types of ways, which is what it’s gonna take throughout the course of a ballgame.”

“There’s a lot of work to be done. We have an outstanding roster. What they did in the playoffs shows their potential. I’ve had great conversations with all of our players, and I’m looking forward to growing positive relationships with them over time,” he added.

New York Knicks Rumors: Mike Brown plans to make huge Rick Brunson coaching decision

According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown is expected to hire a new associate head coach. The New York Knicks tried to poach James Borrego from the New Orleans Pelicans, but to no avail.

“Mike Brown is expected to hire a new associate head coach, The Post has learned, a move that will change the dynamics in the front of the Knicks bench by giving Rick Brunson a lesser role,” Bondy wrote in his column.

“It’s viewed as a gesture by the organization to give Brown more control while simultaneously addressing the distractions or perceptions of conflicts of interest that arose last season by having the star player’s father as the top assistant,” he added.
