The New York Knicks have uncovered another diamond in the rough during their 130-125 road win against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night, marking their fourth victory in their last five.
Mohamed Diawara, the 51st pick in this year’s draft, continues to reward head coach Mike Brown’s trust in him. The New York Knicks rookie contributed 18 points, two steals, and four three-pointers on 7-for-9 shooting from the field in 18 minutes of action for his second career NBA start.
“The more he’s on the floor, the more he’s comfortable,” Brown said of Diawara via John Flanigan of SNY. “Mo kept us in that game, knocking down some big shots.”
“It was awesome to see from him tonight,” OG Anunoby added. “He’s just an amazing player, and he’s only going to keep getting better and better, so it was really cool to see.”

New York Knicks News: Miles McBride shines in his first game back vs. New Orleans Pelicans
Miles McBride also provided a timely spark for the New York Knicks against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night. After missing the last nine games due to a sprained ankle, the 25-year-old combo guard chipped in 14 points, three rebounds, and two assists on 4-for-8 shooting from the field in 18 minutes off the bench.
McBride made huge plays down the stretch, as he converted a pair of three-pointers midway through the fourth period. He also had a huge offensive rebound that turned into a late Jalen Brunson bucket, and knocked down four consecutive free throws to ice the game.
“I prepare for these moments,” McBride said after the game. “I trust God and preparation and just go out there and give it my best.”
