The Philadelphia 76ers got their revenge against the Toronto Raptors, as they won 115-102 on Monday for the second game of their back-to-back set, following their heartbreaking 116-115 loss on Sunday.
After the win, Joel Embiid shared that the Philadelphia 76ers played with a different edge against the Toronto Raptors, as their Atlantic Division rivals talked some smack to them after their previous meeting. Embiid, who didn’t play on Sunday, singled out Alijah Martin’s trash talk after Collin Murray-Boyles dunked on Tyrese Maxey down the stretch.
“They were talking a lot last night after they won,” Embiid told Ky Carlin of the Sixers Wire. “Just me sitting on the bench, that kind rubbed me the wrong way. Just wanted to make sure we came out aggressive and set the tone.”
“I don’t know about everybody else, but I didn’t like the way he was pointing at Tyrese last night,” he added. “So, yeah. That’s why tonight, I had to make sure everybody was on point and myself to kind of set the tone, and we did have a good start.”

Joel Embiid and Paul George had big contributions for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Toronto Raptors on Monday after missing the Sunday game. Embiid had 27 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals on 9-for-17 shooting, while George chipped in 15 points, four rebounds, and six assists on 5-for-13 shooting.
“Opened the floor up,” Maxey told reporters of Embiid and George via Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “And you’ve got to guard them. You’ve got to guard them every (second) out there on the court. That opened up the game for everybody else.”
Tyrese Maxey led the Philadelphia 76ers once again in scoring. The one-time NBA All-Star poured in 33 points, four rebounds, and six three-pointers on 10-for-16 shooting from the field.
