Joel Embiid has missed the last four games due to knee soreness, and Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse talked about his center’s recovery progress before the team’s 110-108 win against the Los Angeles Clippers yesterday.

Nurse said that Embiid is not yet 100 percent fit. However, he expects the Philadelphia 76ers star to return to the court sooner rather than later.
“He’s OK, I would say,” Nurse said of Embiid via Ky Carlin of the Sixers Wire. “Just not quite pain-free. Still day-to-day. I think it’s getting better. I don’t think he’s far away from playing.”

Kelly Oubre Jr. (knee) and Adem Bona (ankle) were also absent last night due to injuries. Meanwhile, co-star Paul George finally made his season debut against the Los Angeles Clippers last night, helping the Philadelphia 76ers secure the comeback victory.
Philadelphia 76ers News: Paul George “felt great” about his on-court return vs. Los Angeles Clippers
Paul George was named in the starting lineup yesterday, and the nine-time NBA All-Star recorded nine points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocks on 2-for-9 shooting from the field in 21 minutes of action.

“It felt great,” George said after the victory. “It felt great to finally play basketball again. It’s been, like, eight months since I played, so it was a long journey. A lot of ups and downs, a lot of hiccups, but it felt good to finally get out there. I felt good. Just rusty, but I feel good.”
“I’ve always kind of let the game come to me. I thought today, I was a little rushed trying to make the most of that five minutes every quarter. So a lot of possessions were kind of uncomfortable from just how I play, but other than that, I got to kind of do that a little bit to just get the cardio and conditioning back,” he added.
