When you put in the work, the results will come. That’s how Phoenix Suns big man Mark Williams see their early success this season.
The Suns are currently 9-6 in the season, defying expectations from critics given the massive changes that

happened to the team. This includes getting rid of their main scorer in Kevin Durant in exchange for Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks. Green has played just one full game this season and will continue to be out.
While the critics and fans alike feel surprise of their great start, Williams has a different thought. He said they are only reaping the fruits of the labor they put in during summer.
“I wouldn’t say I’m surprised,” Williams said when asked via AZCentral’s Duane Rankin.
“I feel like we instilled a lot of good things this summer.”
He also believes that their current record should be better because they had games that they should have won easily.
“Everybody’s been here. We’ve been working hard. We’ve done a lot of good things, and I think we’re just applying it to a different opponent. Honestly, I think in some games earlier in the year that we should’ve won that we lost.”

Their most recent loss was against the Atlanta Hawks who climbed from a 20-point deficit to steal the victory in the last minute.
Phoenix Suns will continue to be undermanned
The more amazing part of this season by the Suns is they are doing it undermanned. Aside from Green, they also don’t have Grayson Allen who has been integral in their wins.
The most recent update on the shooting guard is that he is “trending in the right direction” according to coach Jordan Ott.

For Williams, there’s not much they have to do. They have prepared for this.
“Next man up. With Grayson being out the last couple of games, Jalen being out, I think for us, we just want to support our guys,” he said.
“Just be there for them. They’re there for us. They’re on the bench supportive, engaged every time out.”
The next three games will be challenging for the Suns as they are set to face West giants like the Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets.
