Kevin Durant had to be scratched off Houston Rockets’ game against the Indiana Pacers on Monday after stepping on a fan’s foot in a previous game. They won the game anyway although it was a close one, 118-114, and they needed a break out game from Alperen Sengun who put up 39 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Rockets are gearing up for a tough schedule before the All-Star break. Next on their schedule is a back to back with Boston Celtics and Charlotte Hornets before facing the Oklahoma City Thunder and then two games with the Los Angeles Clippers in two nights.
Will they have Durant back by then? The two-time champion provided the update personally through the Up and Adams show.
“I’m doing better. We’ll see in the morning,” he said when asked by host Kay Adams about his left ankle sprain.

KD appears to be in a good mood throughout their conversation as they talked about Bad Bunny, Usher, Super Bowl LX, and him being seen shooting a shot while in the club.

Kevin Durant could use a rest
The fact that Rockets’ next schedule is a back to back should make one assume that he might not play in the game against Celtics. He is currently listed as probable for that game based on the team’s injury report.
Durant’s usage rate last month is put in focus as some thought Ime Udoka is forced to use him more than the standard amount of minutes. His health is a worry for some as he played 40+ minutes in a number of games during a stretch when they had a hard time winning.

“I get paid 50-something million dollars to be available and play. Be there for my team when they need me to be there. It’s on to me to prepare so I can be ready for 40 minutes. . .I’m preparing for 48 minutes tonight.”
Rockets are currently looking good with their three straight wins, 6-1 in their last seven.
