The Sacramento Kings are rumored to be headed towards a rebuild, prompting head coach Doug Christie to make a huge vow ahead of the team’s 122-108 loss against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.

During the pregame interview, Christie promised that the Sacramento Kings would do everything in their power to “get it right” despite their rocky start to the 2025-26 campaign. He also made sure to call out the team’s haters in his fiery speech.
“Change is hard,” Christie said via ESPN. “It’s hard. But understand — and we understand — that we’re not there yet. But we’re about to work at it like crazy. We will totally get there. And it will be bumpy. It will because change is like that. But buckle up. For the real ones, buckle up.”

“When I see the hate, the haters, the fakers — all you guys, you keep that energy,” he added. “That’s good. You keep that. And you know who you are because while you’re doing that, we’re gonna be working. And while you’re doing that, we’re gonna be growing. And while you do that, eventually, we’re gonna be coming — the Kings Show. Sac proud, know that.”
Sacramento Kings News: Doug Christie mulling changes in the starting lineup
According to Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee, head coach Doug Christie hinted at a change at point guard, as Dennis Schroder‘s struggles continue. Over the past three games, the German international has scored a grand total of five points on 1-for-19 shooting.

“We’re considering everything,” Christie explained. “This is about us playing at a high level. Twenty-four minutes tonight, maybe 30. It’s not enough.”
“We need a 48-minute effort to win in this league, especially against a team like that. That’s a team that’s a championship-level team. You can’t play for small stretches. (The effort was) better, but nobody’s checking for participation trophies,” he added.
