Russell Westbrook notched his 204th career triple-double and first as a member of the Sacramento Kings to lead his team to a 121-116 home win against the Golden State Warriors.

With Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine sidelined, Westbrook put up an all-around performance. The former league MVP contributed 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists on 9-for-13 shooting from the field in 35 minutes of action.
“I asked him what he does,” Monk said of Westbrook via Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee. “I need his off-the-court (regimen). What he does in the summer, what he eats. It’s crazy how he’s still doing this and dominating the game at a high level.”

“First, he’s a Hall of Fame, incredible talent,” Sacramento Kings coach Christie said. “But the passion and desire that he plays with is crazy. That’s really what the game is about. It’s about a kids’ game that you still play with that type of effort, energy, and enthusiasm. It’s beautiful to watch.”

Russell Westbrook also passed Jason Kidd for the most career rebounds by a guard in NBA history (8,734), and after yesterday’s game, he said he feels fortunate to still be in the league for his 18th season.

“Honestly, it’s just a blessing,” Westbrook said. “I don’t take this game, the opportunity to be able to go out and compete, for granted, so I’m just super grateful and thankful to still be able to go out and compete.”
“To be honest, I don’t live up to anybody else’s expectations that they put on me,” he added. “I have my own personal goals and aspirations, things I want to do. So to be honest, I have nothing (to prove). I know what I’m capable of doing when given the opportunity, and now my job is to go out there and do it.”
