Shaquille O’Neal’s daughter, Florida Gators Me’arah O’Neal, was taken out of her recent game due to getting face-elbowed by Miami Hurricanes’ Natalija Marshall, in what was later determined as an intentional foul.

The foul was called early on in the game, at around eight minutes in the first quarter. Miami’s Marshall has the ball and is about to go for a layup and made contact with Me’arah, with the latter getting hit in the face with Marshall’s elbow.

Me’arah fell to the floor, and the referee called an intentional foul, giving the Florida team two free throws. O’Neal was taken out of the game right away and was not able to return for the rest of it. This left her without any score for the entire game and only played for about three minutes in total.

In an interview he did last year, Shaq stated his confidence in Me’arah and what her future could be.

“I don’t like to put pressure on my babies, but she works out with my sons, and I think it’s fair to say one day if she continues, Me’Arah will probably be the best women’s basketball player ever,” O’Neal said. “She’s that good.”

Not All of Shaquille O’Neal’s Children are Into Sports

While her daughter Me’arah is currently into professional basketball just like how he was, not all of Shaq’s children are into following in his footsteps and becoming an athlete.

Shaq’ son Shareef is currently in the NBA under the Sacramento Kings, Shaqir is with Florida A&M. he other daughter, Amirah, is playing for the LSU. However, one daughter seemed to have diverted from becoming an athlete, citing too much exposure to athletes and living the life of one as her major motivation in wanting to carve her own path.

Meet Taahirah O’Neal. Unlike her other siblings, she is not into sports at all. In fact, she works as a communications associate analyst for PepsiCo, and has moved to Georgia from Texas to start fresh.

When asked about the possibility of marrying an athlete in the future, Taahirah shut down any possibilities head-on.

“No offense to athletes but I was raised by, raised with athletes. It’s a no go for me. It’s a no for me,” she said. “I have like the utmost respect for athletes. Where I am in my life especially growing up the way that I did I don’t want that for myself. I need your time. I really don’t want to go toe-to-toe with someone’s schedule.”

Shaquille O’Neal has never been on recording reacting to her daughter’s life choice to take herself outside of his usual world of sports.

Currently, Shaquille O’Neal serves as a sports analyst and host. He was recently challenged by his long-time rival Dwight Howard to a boxing match but Shaq declined.
