Since joining the Indiana Fever this offseason, Sophie Cunningham, veteran guard, has grown close with star Caitlin Clark, and the two were back on social media trading playful jabs—this time with Cunningham teasing Clark about her habit of flexing their big-time endorsement deals.
The banters began last week, when Clark lobbed a jab at Cunningham and Lexie Hull, showing them in swimsuits before a game. The caption read “Convince us there’s a swimsuit brand that wants to partner with two Indiana Fever mermaids,” a daring invite that sparked Clark to reply: “Swimsuit brands plz comment ‘focus on basketball,” on the TikTok post.

Days later, Sophie Cunningham made it clear that she’s not letting Clark’s hilarious remarks slide. Speaking on Wednesday’s episode of “Show Me Something, the former Phoenix Mercury fired back with a laugh.
“Dude, you are ruining me and Lexie’s deals. We’re the ones who have actually been playing, and we need a little break, and that’s when we go to the pool. And I think only like five companies reached out,” she said.
Sophie Cunningham also didn’t hold back on sharing Clark’s different swimsuit style, as well as teasing a very funny moment that spoke a lot.
“I was like, ‘Dude, you don’t have to be a hater,” Cunningham said. “I’ll get you like a one piece that only shows your eyes,’. She did something and has this big bruise on her leg, and I was like, ‘You’re finally getting color.'”
Sophie frying Caitlin after she said, “Swimsuit brands, please comment focus on basketball”:
“I’m going to kill her. I just know it. Dude, you are ruining me and Lexi’s deals. She stays trolling me and Lexi”

Sophie Cunningham’s entry into the spotlight is something many WNBA fans will remember for a long time, and for all the right reasons. After all, she took the “enforcer” role for the Indiana Fever, a title obtained when she avenged Clark after being blindsided by the Connecticut Sun in June.
Sophie Cunningham compares Clark to WNBA legend
Sophie Cunningham didn’t just stroll into the WNBA as the Indiana Fever’s tough enforcer—she earned her stripes during six seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, learning directly from Diana Taurasi, the league’s most decorated legend. When Taurasi retired at 40 after a 20-year run, Cunningham moved to Indiana, joining a young, electric squad led by rookie sensation Caitlin Clark.
Fans have been quick to draw lines between Taurasi and Clark, but Sophie Cunningham keeps the hierarchy straight. “DT will always be my GOAT,” she said, praising Taurasi’s unmatched work ethic while calling Clark a “really close second.” For her, it’s not a debate—it’s a privilege to share the court with both.
