The Golden State Warriors will end their five-game road trip on Tuesday without their best player, Steph Curry. The Warriors star is set to miss his second straight game due to a thigh contusion he suffered on Nov. 26 against the Houston Rockets. It’s concerning for Golden State to miss their franchise star before it starts its three-game road trip.

Curry has appeared in 16 games for the 2025-26 NBA season, averaging 27.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists. The Warriors are missing their No. 1 option and are looking for others to step their game up. On Tuesday, ESPN’s Anthony Slater provided a concerning update on Curry’s road to recovery.

According to the NBA insider, Curry’s recovery could take longer than expected. It’s not the best news for the Warriors, who are 11-10 in the campaign.

According to the report, Steph Curry could return to action on Dec. 12. Ahead of the team’s contest against the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, Slater reported that Curry was putting in work in the weight room the other night.

“I saw him in the weight room the other night,” Slater reported. “He’s wearing a leg sleeve over that thigh contusion, he’s doing the bike, he’s doing some weight stuff, but he hasn’t been on the court. He’s kind of obsessive about keeping his body in as good a condition as possible, to get back as quickly as possible.”

“But he’s still a little bit away,” Slater continued. “After this road trip, they have a four-day break during that Cup week because they’re not in the Cup. That could be a good use (to rest and recover) for these veterans.”

The Warriors are set to face three Eastern Conference teams during their road trip. Curry is unlikely to play during that stretch.

Warriors’ Steve Kerr isn’t too concerned with Steph Curry’s injury

While losing the best player to injury usually sends teams into panic, the Golden State Warriors are different. They haven’t hit the panic button yet, even though Steph Curry’s injury is a bit concerning. Head coach Steve Kerr said on 95.7 The Game that he isn’t worried that the setback will be a long-term deal.

“I don’t think any of us are too concerned that this is a long-term thing, but we also don’t have clarity on exactly when he’s going to play,” Kerr said.

“To be determined,” Kerr said. “Rick Celebrini and Steph will put their heads together. You know, we always look at our schedule while we’re on the trip, you know, what it looks like as far as practice time.”

Kerr didn’t reveal if Curry will join the Warriors’ upcoming road trip. But he said it will depend on his availability during the trip.
