Stephen Curry’s championship window is closing and Golden State Warriors were pressed even harder to make moves on the trade market when Jimmy Butler went down with a season-ending ACL injury on January 19 in a win over his former team, the Miami Heat. They did make one major upgrade in Kristaps Porzingis, but Curry said he is still not content with their situation.

Butler’s absence is the main reason.
“I’d rather have Jimmy Butler playing basketball. But it’s our hurdle to overcome as a team,” Curry said in an interview with ESPN’s Anthony Slater.
“Three weeks ago, we were heading in a certain direction. The momentum stopped, and now you’re trying to figure out how to get it going again.”
The Warriors are 4–6 since Butler became unavailable. Their most recent loss came against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Porzingis acquisition is expected to beef up their defense and frontcourt although the former Atlanta Hawks center’s return is still unknown.
Stephen Curry Shares Injury Update
Curry himself is also unavailable, having missed the last three games due to a right knee injury. The Warriors went 1–2 in that span, with their lone win coming against the Phoenix Suns on Friday.
Curry said his rehab is going well and that he is “trending in the right direction.”

Will he be available for the All-Star Game this weekend? His description of the pain suggests he might not make it in time.
“It’s a matter of learning as I go what works rehab-wise,” he said.
“Because it’s still painful. You have to try to get rid of all the inflammation and pain. It’s something we still have to monitor and manage, but if I come back too early, it could flare up.”
