Anthony Edwards is a superscorer. He has been since he entered the league. The Minnesota Timberwolves star continues to be that guy and is in fact about to break the franchise’s record for most 40-point game in a single season, something he set last season at nine games.

This is an amazing feat given how head coach Chris Finch gives him more tasks other than scoring. Edwards is tasked to bring the ball and set plays from time to time. They have a veteran point guard in Mike Conley but he’s starting from the bench now.
Until when is Antman going to be the de facto PG for Finch’s system? Reports say they are now looking at one Eastern Conference point guard and fans should love this news. They are also fast-tracking this negotiation.
“According to a source, Coby White has been inquired about, and time is of the essence in the Bulls making a decision,” Chicago Sun-Times reporter Joe Cowley wrote on Thursday.

“The source said that Minnesota is not looking to wait until February and the trade deadline to get a deal done, looking to fix the primary ball-handling situation that’s been an issue all season long for them.”
Anthony Edwards doesn’t need to become Stockton
White should be a promising upgrade for the Wolves. He has been the Chicago Bulls’ starting point guard for the past seasons. He is limited this season due to injuries but his impact is obvious whenever he is available.
The 2019 7th overall pick is averaging 22.1 points and 5.4 assists in 7 games so far. His role as PG with the Bulls is affected by the rising performance of Josh Giddey.
Finch said they still want to use Edwards where he is most effective at. He also emphasized that they don’t need him to be like NBA great John Stockton at the point.

Chris Finch on Anthony Edwards being the “point guard” of the Wolves
“We don’t need Ant to be the point guard in the classic sense. We need him to be himself, get us in and out of our structures, push the pace a little bit more… we just need him to get the ball up, get us into… pic.twitter.com/raAQu7laT4
