WNBA fans are reacting to an old video of Britney Griner missing an open dunk in an empty stadium, especially as the players have been negotiating for a much higher pay and better structure, similar to that which NBA players enjoy.

While Griner is undoubtedly a talented player, this particular video was so unimpressive with the 6’9” baller showing off terrible dunking skills. Surely, this was a one-off, but fans have been making use of this opportunity to hurl jokes at Griner and all other W players.

“WNBA: ‘We deserve the same pay as the NBA!’ Also the WNBA:” David Santa Carla tweeted, sharing a video of Brittney Griner missing her dunk.

“That dude can’t even dunk at 6’9. (laughing face with tightly closed eyes)” one fan joked.

“I could almost dunk in the 9th grade at 5’10” – please pay me BronBron money.” One more fan trolled.

“WNBA should lower the hoops to 8 Ft.. it would make it more exciting.” Another fan sarcastically responded.

WNBA Fans Continue To Troll Britney Griner For Missing Dunk

WNBA fans are having a field day trolling Britney Griner for missing the dunk in the viral video, with many comparing her to much younger male players. Of course, the whole male-female baller debate had to enter the picture, with several fans expressing that W players had no business demanding the same pay as NBA players.

“I knew so many 6 ft tall white guys that could do this in high school” one fan pointed out.

“She actually thought it was ‘badass’ to hang from the rim. Which I thought as well. When I was dying to touch the rim in 8th grade. More said: it was a f***ing girl’s ball. And she STILL couldn’t put it down. Literally TENS OF THOUSANDS of high school boys dunk EVERY YEAR” another fan trolled.

“I was 6’5” at her age and could dunk easily with 2 hands. Also got called for goal tending regularly. When was the last time you saw that call in the WNBA?” one more fan compared their own experiences with Griner.

Another set of jokes that were seen in the responses were that of the eternal debate as to whether Britney Griner is a woman or a man. Sometime back, a video of Griner speaking went viral, where her baritone voice shocked fans. Many fans used the video as evidence that she is actually a man, impersonating a woman.
