WNBA fans called out Minnesota Lynx star DiJonai Carrington over her attendance at the recently held Las Vegas Aces victory party.

Over at social media platform X, WNBA fans discussed DiJonai Carrington arriving at the Las Vegas Aces victory party on a scooter and showing off her nails to the media.

“Only in the W you’ll see a player that lost in the playoffs celebrating another team’s ring,” one fan commented, adding in a laughing emoji at the end.

Another fan responded and pointed out what they believed to be the reason Carrington was present at the victory parade, despite not being a part of the Aces.

“Dumb a** she’s there supporting her gf,” they said.

DiJonai Carrington and NaLyssa Smith first drew public attention as a couple after teammates and observers traced their relationship back to shared collegiate roots. Reports said that the pair dated through college and strengthened their bond as both progressed into professional basketball. They later made aspects of their relationship public while prioritizing privacy around personal milestones.

The couple went public more visibly in the early 2020s as both players’ WNBA careers advanced. They appeared together at team events and on social media, and often spoke about mutual support for one another’s on-court development and off-court life.

While the two have kept many private details out of the press, profiles and timelines built by sports outlets trace a steady, supportive partnership that predates their pro careers and has been marked by occasional public comments about long-term commitment and plans, making them one of the more noted player couples in women’s basketball.

WNBA Fans Poke Fun at DiJonai Carrington Attending Aces Victory Parade

Over at X, WNBA fans had a lot of fun talking about how DiJonai Carrington went and stole the acne at the Las Vegas Aces victory parade. For the most part, fans criticized how she found her way to the event, despite being from an entirely different team.

“D***, did she join the Aces and win a championship as well?” one fan said. “That’s kinda weird that you play for a whole other team, but you has been at every event for another team since they won a championship because you [are] dating a member of that team. I’ll be pissed if I was her teammates.”

Another commented, echoing the fan sentiment that questioned why she was in attendance.

“She is acting like she won the ‘Ship,” another fan said. “Cheerleader vibes, not serious competitor energy.”

As the league goes deeper into the offseason, WNBA fans are looking forward not only on franchise moves but to personal off-court relationships, too.
