WNBA fans mocked the championship bonus that the Las Vegas Aces received this season, as well as the amount that the runner-up team received.
In a series of posts on social media platform X, WNBA fans have poked fun at the amount of monetary bonus that the Las Vegas Aces have received after becoming the 2025 Champions. Each player of the Champion team, as announced, is set to get $20,825 as a bonus, while the runner-up gets $7,746 for each player.

Fans mocked this bonus pay, with one fan even saying it could be enough for a down payment for a used car.
“Could put a nice down payment on a used Honda with that,” they said.

During the 2025 season, players on the Indiana Fever, winners of the Commissioner’s Cup, received as much as $30,000 each. The team split a monetary pool of $500,000 and $120,000 in cryptocurrency from sponsors Coinbase. As the MVP of the Cup, Natasha Howard got $5,000 more.
Negotiations on a new collective bargaining agreement are still far from resolution between players and WNBA leadership, with an urgency to reach agreement by October 31. The players are seeking some design of a revenue-sharing formula that grows with the business rather than fixed caps and small increases.
The WNBPA is pressing for mechanisms that tie player pay to rising league income and franchise valuations—points underscored by explosive team value increases and a reported media rights package beginning in 2026 worth roughly $2.2 billion that players want a meaningful share of.

While a lockout is not inevitable—previous talks have extended past deadlines—the stakes are higher now with expansion on the horizon and a packed offseason calendar that would be disrupted by a work stoppage, leading players to signal they are prepared to hold out for significantly improved terms.
WNBA Fans Compared Finals Bonus to What the Indiana Fever Got
As the Las Vegas Aces closed the season as the Champions, WNBA fans could not help but compare the Championship bonus that each Aces player got and the Commissioner’s Cup bonus that each member of the Indiana Fever got.
One fan said, after learning how much the Aces got:
“Well, the Fever are happy with their Commissioner’s Cup Winning.”

“Commissioner got more money lol,” another said.

Another comment mirrored the sentiment that the Fever had it better in terms of pay than the Aces.
“So the Commissioner Cup Champions got more money,” the fan said.
With the deadline for the new CBA coming, WNBA fans will have more news to talk about.
