Caitlin Clark probably didn’t expect to catch heat for talking baseball — but WNBA fans never misses.

During the wild Game 7 showdown between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays, the Indiana Fever star jumped on X to share her excitement.

“This is the best baseball game I’ve ever seen,” Clark posted as both teams traded clutch hits late into the night.

WNBA fans were quick to remind her of one small detail.

“Aren’t you a Cubs fan? 2016 did happen,” one user replied.

Another wrote, “She was 14 at the time, playing basketball.”

A third fan added, “Come on, CC, you were old enough to see that one,” referencing the Chicago Cubs’ epic 2016 World Series Game 7 win over Cleveland.

That game, of course, broke a 108-year championship drought after the Cubs edged the Indians 8–7 in ten innings — still one of the most unforgettable sports nights in Chicago history.

Clark’s post wasn’t meant to stir debate, but when you’re one of the most talked-about names in the WNBA, even a casual sports tweet turns into a trending topic.

“CANNOT WAIT TO GET THE FITS”: WNBA fans go wild for Caitlin Clark’s new apparel line

Off the court, Caitlin Clark’s brand continues to rise. Despite a tough rookie campaign and an offseason spent recovering from injury, the Fever guard has been cooking up something fresh with Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Her latest collab — Caitlin’s Court — officially drops this Saturday, and fans are already lining up virtually.

“CANNOT WAIT TO GET THE FITS!” one fan commented.

    Another wrote,

“Gosh I love Caitlin Clark! My one and only favorite WNBA player!”

Even the Fever’s official account showed love, while teammate Chloe Bibby chimed in,

“Nice hamstring stretch. Love that one.”

The line comes in three vibes: Hoop, Train, and Hang. “Hoop” drops new tees, hoodies, and joggers with Clark’s logo alongside select Kobe Bryant sneakers. “Train” includes leggings, sports bras, and workout gear. “Hang” goes more casual — think jackets, joggers, and laid-back Nike pieces.

Whether she’s tweeting about baseball or dropping new merch, Caitlin Clark stays in the spotlight — even in the WNBA offseason.
