WNBA fans aren’t quite sure what to make of Sophie Cunningham’s latest revelation about her childhood dream.

After Angel Reese’s big moment at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show with Suni Lee, the Indiana Fever guard shared on her “Show Me Something” podcast that she’s always wanted to follow that same path.

“Oh my God, I texted my agents right away and said please, pleaaase — this has been a dream of mine since second grade. I’ve always wanted to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel,” Cunningham said alongside West Wilson.

For her, it’s a lifelong goal. But for fans, it sparked confusion and debate.

One fan wrote, “why is it a 2nd graders dream to model lingerie?”

Another replied, “Not judging her, more power to her, but this is prolly an american centric thing (sense of beauty aesthetic).”

A third added, “Sophie is literally built like a VS model. Both her and Cameron Brink. They’d be perfect. But Angel Reese getting all that because of her agent. Angel’s agent solo carrying her like prime LeBron.”

Cunningham’s 2025 season had already been eventful. She and Kelsey Mitchell carried the Fever before an MCL injury forced her out late in the year. Still, she averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 30 games.

“Jealous, Babe?” WNBA fans React to Cunningham’s Comment on Angel Reese

A week earlier, Cunningham had also made headlines for a lighthearted remark that didn’t sit well with everyone.

She had been talking about her new diet and food restrictions when she joked about the situation.

“A huge one I forgot to mention is gluten, which is in every carb pretty much possible, and I know they make like gluten-free stuff, but that [expletive] tastes weird to me,” she said.

She continued, “I can still eat chicken, that’s good. Yeah, I feel like I’m going to be kind of turning into a rabbit, so I don’t know, I guess I’m going to turn into a Victoria’s Secret model. Call me Angel Reese.”

That mention drew quick reactions online.

    One fan asked, “Jealous babe?”

Another said, “This is so weird. Why even bring her up like that?”

A third added, “KEEP ANGELS NAME OUT YOUR MOUTH.”

Many thought Cunningham was shading Reese, though others felt she was simply pointing out that Reese had already achieved the dream she once had.
