Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham had WNBA fans talking again after her surprise crossover moment with Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney lit up social media over the weekend.
The two crossed paths at the NASCAR Cup Series Championship in Phoenix on Sunday, and of course, Sophie made sure the cameras caught it. She posted a photo with Sweeney and, yeah, the internet went off.

WNBA fans were all over the comments, mixing admiration with a bit of humor.
One fan said, “The height difference is cute.”

Another wrote, “The long and short of superior genetics.”
Someone else added, “Did not have this crossover on my 2025 bingo card but I’m here for it.”
Cunningham’s used to moments like these. Somehow, she ends up trending without even trying. It’s that mix of confidence and goofiness — she doesn’t force it, it just happens.
“Never change”: WNBA fans crack up at Sophie Cunningham’s hilarious Sydney Sweeney caption
Then she dropped the line that made the post go nuclear. Sophie reposted the same pic on X, writing:

“one of us forgot our tits at home.”

And that was it. WNBA fans lost it.
One wrote, “OMG. Never change, Sophie.”
Another said, “God remembered your legs, Girl.”
A third chimed in, “Neither forgot that smile.”
That’s pretty much why people love her. She’s raw, hilarious, and maybe just a little reckless — in the best way.
Now, with free agency hanging in the air, there’s also the question of where she ends up next season. She’s an unrestricted free agent, so the Fever could lose her. But wherever she lands, it’s safe to say she won’t blend in quietly.
Because Sophie Cunningham doesn’t really need a basketball to trend. She just shows up, says something wild, and lets the internet do its thing.
