WNBA fans poked fun at analyst Stephen A. Smith, following his bold claims of President Donald Trump coming for the WNBA in an alleged personal crackdown on professional sports leagues.
Over at X, conservative radio broadcaster and political commentator Tomi Lahren blasted Stephen A. Smith back after the latter claimed that President Donald Trump would be coming for the WNBA on a personal matter. For Lahren, Trump doesn’t need to come after the WNBA, as the league takes care of that on its own.

“Stephen must not be aware that the marvelous ladies of the WNBA already come after each other,” she said in her post.

Another fan pointed out the irony that after Stephen A. Smith talked about the President coming after the WNBA for gambling-related crimes, he went to a commercial in promotion of a betting platform.
“Then he goes to commercial, and [the] first one up is from Draft Kings,” the fan said.
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith reacted to a high-profile federal gambling probe that led to arrests tied to an alleged illegal sports betting ring, saying the sweep could be part of a broader campaign by President Donald Trump to go after professional leagues. More than that, Smith warned that the WNBA might be next.
“Don’t be surprised if the WNBA is next on his list,” Smith said. “When you got all of these protests against him and what have you, this man is coming. I’ve been saying it for a long time. This is the latest nugget of evidence that we’re talking about right here.”
So far, Donald Trump has not given any comment on Smith’s claim against him.
WNBA Fans Talk Stephen A. Smith’s Trump Claims
Over at X, WNBA poked fun at Stephen A. Smith, as he made the bold claim of President Donald Trump having a direct hand in alleged sports league crackdowns. For fans, Smith’s argument does not make sense for a lot of reasons.

“Yup, dumbest thing he’s said for awhile, hope he’s embarrassed when he looks in the mirror,” one fan said.

One fan called Smith out not for his statement, but for how he talks.
“Does he always talk for so long without really saying anything at all?” they said.

One fan explained how Smith has made the topic unnecessarily political, as the investigations on the matter began way back before Trump was in power.
“Why is everything made political?” the fan said. “This investigation started before Trump got into office. So the FBI cracks down on illegal mafia and illegal gambling racket in the NBA but Trump is still a bad guy.”
As the league is in its offseason, WNBA fans are looking forward to new updates and offseason moves by the league’s teams.
