Chicago Bulls are stacking up on young players for the future and one can only expect each player to give it their best to make sure they will get the spot they have. That’s what happened between Yuki Kawamura and Matas Buzelis.

Kawamura is a summer signing by the Bulls after he was let go by the Memphis Grizzlies where he was a fan favorite. He signed a two-way contract and will split his time with the Windy City Bulls.
Buzelis is the team’s priced rookie who they picked 11th overall last season. He is only 20 years old and was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team this year.
They play different positions but they are trash talking a lot according to the Japanese player. It was of course, all in jest and Kawamura said he finds the Lithuanian small forward talented.
“I’m impressed. Matas is very talented,” Kawamura told reporters after practice.
Buzelis is competitive, too, that it can go overboard.

“Sometimes, trash talk with me. Definitely, he starts it everytime.”
“I don’t start it. I’m competitive. That’s why. In the heat of the moment, it happens.”
When pressed what it is about, Kawamura said “It’s no good for TV. Sometimes F-word.”
Yuki Kawamura thinks he fits well with Chicago Bulls
The competitiveness is there but the question is if Kawamura is on a system where his skills will be put to good use?
The 24-year-old player believes he will have an opportunity with his new team.
“The Bulls organization is great,” he said. “Good opportunity for me.”
He added that the Bulls are somewhat similar to Memphis where he became a fan favorite.

“Both teams focused on transition offense,” Kawamura said. “It fits me. I love the system. It didn’t take me a long time to adjust.”
