The Dallas Mavericks front office is in the spotlight once again, and NBA fans are losing it online. Reports from @BleacherReport claim that Mavericks ownership is troubled by “negativity” surrounding GM Nico Harrison — a sentiment that has quickly snowballed across social media.
Ever since Harrison made the infamous move to trade Luka Doncic in exchange for Anthony Davis, his job has been under heavy scrutiny. Many NBA fans believe that decision alone doomed the franchise for years. Twitter (or X) hasn’t held back either.

User @cpseptimiu said, “He will always be known as the GM who traded Luka. Now he’s finished.” Another user, @KnicksJedi, added, “Nico gave away Luka and cooked the Mavs future.”

The Mavericks’ season hasn’t helped his case. What was meant to be a retooling year around Davis and Kyrie Irving has turned into a mid-table struggle, with Dallas fighting to stay above .500. NBA fans, who have been vocal since the trade, now seem united in their frustration, calling for the team to rethink its front office leadership.
From being under pressure to win championships, the Dallas Mavericks’ management is now being crushed by the NBA fans’ relentless pressure to at the very least show that their team can survive and compete this season.
The expectation was that the Mavs will be shifting gears from competing in huge games to winning them. But with management decisions being tied down to Nico, the fans are now out for blood and the noise is getting bigger. Even bigger than the backlash from selling Luka.
Mavs’ “Win Now” Plan Turns Into a Slow Collapse, and NBA Fans Are Not Holding Back
The Dallas Mavericks’ season is quickly turning into a nightmare, and NBA fans have taken notice. According to @ClutchPoints,

“The Mavs are down bad. Even after the infamous Luka Doncic–Anthony Davis trade, nobody expected a start this rough.”

Besides being riddled with injuries, their shooting has been abysmal.
They have seven players shooting below 30% from three (min. 10 attempts).

With the Win Now plan in action, the fans were treated to a complete disappointment with the Mavs stuck in 14th as of writing. There was the expectation of hitting the ground running. Credit to Anthony Davis, he’s been solid individually. But the team’s chemistry is off.
NBA fans are not holding back their frustration.
User @FrenchyBam wrote, “And Nico said Dallas was supposed to be in Win Now mode.”
Meanwhile, @realjaycollins didn’t mince words: “This is actually disgusting work from Nico.”
The comments reflect a growing belief that GM Nico Harrison overestimated how fast the new roster could gel, and underestimated what losing Luka Doncic really meant.
Now, every loss adds to the pressure. The NBA fans demand more from this rebuild. How quickly can a “win now” dream fall apart when leadership gambles everything and loses?
