NBA Fans online remained divided over the terrible news that could really change the Golden State Warriors’ fate this season. On Tuesday, X/Twitter page @TheDunkCentral reported that the Warriors have considered trading their veteran star, Jimmy Butler, after suffering from a season-ending injury in his last game against the Miami Heat.

However, NBA Fans like user @Ripmeta_x aren’t convinced that any team will welcome Butler to their fold, writing, “Who is desperate enough to absorb a $54M hit for a half-season rental?”

User @truXhawk also shared the same sentiment, posting, “Good luck trying to find someone willing to trade for an overly paid 36 year old with a TORN ACL !!”

While many NBA Fans understand that trading Butler could be good for the Warriors’ championship hopes this season, some are skeptical that any team will offer a young or healthy player in return. Moreover, Fans think Butler’s high salary with the Warriors reduced any good chances.

“What team is trading for an injured player out for the season at 50 plus million salary? Delusional Warriors, it’s over. You chose to pay your old a** core and cap out your old a** team,” one user wrote.

“Nobody wants that non-expiring contract for a player with a torn ACL,” one user commented.

“dude literally has no value. he’s 36 and can’t score without free throws,” one user remarked.

For many NBA Fans, it’s sad to think that Butler, who was regarded as the piece that would give the Warriors another title, will soon leave that same team. However, NBA Fans also know too well that Butler remains the only star who has really helped fellow star Stephen Curry this season.

If the Warriors cannot solve this issue soon, NBA Fans could see a very bad change in the Warriors’ momentum this season.

NBA Fans speculate trade destinations for Butler

On the other side, NBA Fans couldn’t help but think of the best teams for Butler. While a majority of Fans believe that Butler’s ACL Injury was the final nail in the coffin for his career, some still want to see him play, but maybe in another jersey.

User @YANGS1K had the Memphis Grizzlies as a candidate, writing, “Memphis for jaren jackson Jr. Something like this with Golden State throwing in picks to sweeten it.”

Meanwhile, user @ElverGolada24 posted, “Probably the wizards or bulls.”

While NBA Fans continue to speculate on Butler’s possible teams, it’s still a big question whether the Warriors will be able to trade him in the first place. The trade deadline is two weeks away, and only time will tell on Butler’s fate at San Francisco.
