NBA fans are trolling both Giannis Antetokounmpo and the league after a viral video clip showed the player traveling with the ball against the Knicks. Despite Antetokounmpo traveling for at least six steps, the player was not called by game officials, which has angered fans even more.
The ‘Greek Freak’ and his team managed to win against the Knicks, but his traveling with the ball was definitely the highlight of the game. Fans are clearly not going to let Antetokounmpo, or the game officials, forget this anytime soon and have been flooding social media with jokes and memes about the incident.

“He took a whole world tour (crying emoji)” one fan trolled Antetokounmpo.
“5 steps and no ref saw that? We need an investigation on the refs. Do they gamble too?” another fan said.
“Like the refs have to be extremely blind at this point (laughing with tears emoji)” one more fan echoed.
NBA Fans Justify Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Travel As Gather
While many NBA fans are calling out Giannis Antetokounmpo and the referees for the traveling incident in the game against the Knicks, others justified the move. Despite the viral video showing the player taking almost six steps without dribbling the ball, some felt that he was just doing his ‘gather’ and that there was nothing wrong with this.
“Yall dont know ball lmfaoooo as long as the BALL is still in motion, you can literally take as many steps as you want. The ball was still spinning then he gathered and took legal steps.” One fan sided with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“This is a legal move. Giannis gather stepped like I gather blueberries to put in my greek yogurt in the morning for breakfast (rolling on the floor with laughter emoji)” another fan justified Antetokounmpo, while referring to the player’s Greek ethnicity.
“Nah that was just a Greek Gather… it’s an evolved version of the euro step” yet another fan said, while throwing a little shade at the player.
It is clear from the video clip that Giannis Antetokounmpo only managed a couple of steps for the gather, and that he definitely did travel with the ball for at least four more steps. This is definitely not in the rule-book and should have been called immediately by the referee. While Bucks fans have been supporting their player, even though he pulled off an illegal move, others have been trolling Milwaukee and their legendary talent.
