The New York Knicks secured a 113-111 win over the Dallas Mavericks yesterday, as Jalen Brunson returned from an ankle injury and the team received a fortuitous call late in the contest.

Brunson had a game-high 28 points, three rebounds, and five assists on 11-for-23 shooting from the field in 35 minutes. However, the game was decided in the final seconds, as Brandon Williams was called for an offensive foul for hooking Landry Shamet on what would’ve been the game-tying layup with 0.7 seconds left.
“Chaos,” Brunson said via ESPN’s Vincent Goodwill. “At the same time, found a way to win. It was ugly. When you win ugly, it’s a sign of a team learning, getting better. No matter what the situation is, we’ve got to find a way to win.”

“Finally, finally,” he added about the team’s first road win this year. “We’re happy, but we got a lot of work to do.”
New York Knicks News: Mike Brown lauds the referees for making the right call vs. Dallas Mavericks
Dallas Mavericks fans were in dismay after Brandon Williams was called for an offensive foul, considering the circumstances, but New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown believes that the officials made the right call.

“It was the right call,” Brown said via SNY’s Ben Krimmel. “Because he took (Shamet’s) left arm. I had a great view of it. I’m glad (official) J.T. (Orr) did, but more importantly, I’m glad he made the right call.”
“That was a good call by the officials,” Landry Shamet continued. “Tough way to see the game end on a call like that, but I think they made the right call. I want that one, as a defender, I want that one.”
