Sophie Cunningham definitely did not expect to have so many senior fans at the Annika Pro-Am golf tournament. Cunningham and her Fever teammate, Lexie Hull, are playing caddies to Caitlin Clark who has returned to the tournament after a successful debut in the previous offseason.
With Cunningham and Hull in the bunch, it is clear that this year’s tournament packs a heavier punch with more jokes and more laughs. Recently, a viral video shared by ESPN shows Cunningham taking a swing with the ball, hitting someone in the crowd. As Cunningham ran to console the person who was hit, several other older men can also be seen faking getting hit so they can get hugs as well.

“I don’t belong here.” Sophie Cunningham commented on ESPN women’s Instagram post where they shared the viral clip.
Not just Sophie Cunningham, but Lexie Hull too showed off her almost non-existent golf skills. Hull can be seen taking a swing, with the ball just sitting there. Of course, Caitlin Clark was flawless in her strokes, enthralling the crowd with her skill sets.
Cunningham seems to be doing things differently this offseason by playing caddy to Caitlin Clark. Meanwhile, her own future in the league is in doubt right now, with her currently being a free agent with no particular home as of now.
Sophie Cunningham Responds To Fan Who Wants Her To Re-Sign With Fever
Sophie Cunningham’s presence at the Pro-Am tournament with Caitlin Clark is definitely loved by fans. According to reporter Scott Agness who has been extensively covering the tourney, one particular fan yelled at Cunningham and Lexie Hull, asking them to re-sign with the Fever. Cunningham replied with a very brief answer, making her feelings known on the matter.

“A Fever fan shouted at Cunningham and Hill that they both need to re-sign. Cunningham” ‘Tell them to pay us’, she said, referencing the WNBA and their ongoing CBA negotiations.” Scott Agness tweeted.

Not just Sophie Cunningham, but many other players have been speaking out on the unfair pay that they currently receive. However, the negotiations seem to be going nowhere, leaving more and more players frustrated and disappointed.
Meanwhile, several players have been signing with other leagues, like the Unrivaled, which pay players several times more than what they receive now. The Project B league is also promoting itself in this manner, but WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumbike being the latest to sign up.
