For so long, WNBA Fans have tried to find their own version of the ‘Alien,’ Victor Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs superstar known for his 7’4 height. Thankfully, 2026 may have given them the perfect player, thanks to the Texas Tech Lady Raiders signing Stephanie Okechukwu, a Nigerian center who is exactly 7 feet tall with a striking wingspan, at midseason.
In fact, the fans have already seen how Okechukwu can fit on the court, thanks to an X/Twitter post made by the user @EJayArrow. Many sent support to the first seven-footer of NCAA women’s basketball, while some also sent advice on how she could develop more of her skills.

However, one user by the name of @2xfrfr_ took the time to throw a joke, writing, “I need her and Wemby to make the worlds first 8 footer,” making it clear on the huge importance of big guys (and girls) in the big leagues.

“Obvious impressive length, and I’m assuming she is working in footwork in this vid, b/c teams will try to be physical with her and those moves won’t translate to game action,” one user added.
“Get her into that Nigerian team, and we’ll win a medal at the next Olympics,” one wrote.
“Has pretty good form at free throw and three, wasn’t expecting that! I think the game will be fast at first but she will catch on in time. Looking forward to watching her,” one commented.
While WNBA fans have been likening Okechukwu to their own Wembanyama, she clearly still has a long way to go before becoming the beast on the court like Wemby. However, playing for a team that’s 25th in the league this season, while needing a center who can provide boards and defense, the Nigerian may have secured her opportunity to play more.
WNBA Fans discuss as Caitlin Clark reveals bet at the NFL playoffs
Meanwhile, WNBA Fans have always seen their star, Caitlin Clark, as a solid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL. To her dismay, the Chiefs won’t be seeing the preseason for the first time since 2014. However, this Thursday, Clark revealed that she is rooting for the New England Patriots, led by young QB Drake Maye, in the playoffs.

WNBA Fans stormed the X post in what could be a shocking bet from the Indiana Fever star, with one user saying, “She knows ball,” while another one even wrote, “Drake Maye x Caitlyn Clark would be a power couple.”

If there’s one thing most WNBA fans share the same side on, it’s their love for young, rising superstars, whether it be Clark or Maye. Fans could hope both stars will surpass expectations as the face of their own teams.
