There’s not much expectations on the Brooklyn Nets this season even if they traded for someone who can put the ball in the hoops. That does not mean they should not try.

The Nets fall for the sixth time in six games on Sunday after getting pounced at home by the Philadelphia 76ers who were without star Joel Embiid. Tyrese Maxey continued his scoring exploit with his 26 but it was Kelly Oubre’s night as he finished with 29 points. Rookie VJ Edgecombe had 16 while Quentin Grimes had 22 from the bench.
For the Nets, it was Cam Thomas again who carried the scoring load with his 29 while Michael Porter Jr. and Terrence Mann both had 17. Nic Claxton dropped 19.
Fans are feeling the worst after the sixth loss.
Nets are a terrible team.

Others think the rookies should at least be given the minutes since they are meant to develop them.

Brooklyn Nets defense is suspect
This is the fourth game that Nets allowed opponents to score above 125 points. They lost by double digits in five of the six losses and the closest they got to winning was against the Atlanta Hawks when the submitted to a 112-117 defeat.
Head coach Jordi Fernandez thinks his players are lacking the effort on that department.
“We go back to the same with poor defensive effort,” Fernández said. “I’m failing at trying to get my guys to play hard.
“I’m trying to ask them questions: How can I do it to get them to play really hard? And then you live with the result. I’m not living with this result because the effort is not there and the defense is not there. And we’re turning it over — 19 turnovers for 20 points.

He is putting the blame to himself for this.
“It’s everything. From the lack of attention to the body language. That all goes with energy. And like I said, it starts with me,” Fernández said. “I’m asking them to play really hard and to play with purpose, and we’re not doing it. So I’m doing something wrong besides the coverages.
Things won’t go easy for them as they play the Minnesota Timberwolves next, a Western team just as hungry to get back to the winning column.
