Draymond Green got real when he spoke at length about playing on Christmas Day in a recent episode of his podcast. Green basically admitted what many other players feel, remarking that playing on the holiday is difficult since most of them would rather be at home with their families.
While many fans and players are nodding along to what Green is saying, there are others like former hooper Ron Harper, who feel that the Warriors star is absolutely wrong in his take. As per Harper, players should consider it an “honor” to play on the holiday.
“Playing on Christmas Day also f**king sucks. And the reason it sucks is, number one, what I—what I just said, uh, it can affect your mood. Number two, we are human beings and, just like everyone else, enjoy Christmas Day with our families. That kinda gets messed up for us. Um, they’re in their homes or on vacation with their families, makin’ memories. We don’t—we don’t get that opportunity. So I hate when people are like, ‘Oh man, it’s an honor to play on Christmas Day.’ People should shut up. Like, no—you should shut up, because whether you played on Christmas Day or not, I don’t—I don’t really care about the perspective.” Draymond Green said.

While Harper seems to be sticking to his stance, many fans are siding with Draymond Green on this. Green may be known for dropping controversial remarks pretty often, but in this case, the hooper highlighted some very valid points.

Draymond Green really stirred the pot with these latest remarks about playing on Christmas Day. The man has been getting plenty of attention over the last few days, with even Brianna Turner taking to X to drop her own perspective on the matter.

Turner is currently a part of the Women’s National Basketball League in Australia, where she plays for the Perth Lynx. With her being in the land down under at this time, it is understandable why she would drop a tweet like this.
